L1 Glove Guide

Here at L1 we understand that gloves are the most important piece of your equipment. L1 goalkeeper gloves provide comfort, grip and protection. Our gloves are made with the greatest care and material to ensure best performance. Our gloves are created, tested and worn by ex-professional Leon Othen and Marty Walker. Below we will show you why L1 gloves are so popular amongst professionals, and also how to keep good care of them.

Backhand of the glove - L1 Roll Finger
The backhand of our gloves provides the greatest protection to our players. The L1 Roll Finger backhand is one of the most popular backhand glove styles in soccer. With a roll finger cut, th
e body of the glove and finger gussets connect the palm and backhand, resulting in a rolled effect around the fingers. The L1 Roll Finger creates a larger surface area, providing greater ball contact and providing a greater comfort and fit.

Palm of the glove - L1 Latex Professional
The palm of our goalkeeper gloves provides comfort and grip to our professionals. Our GENERATION 2 Latex professional palms provide the latest tough grip palm technologies providing the player with enhanced grip in all weather conditions and an enhanced shot absorption. Our Latex Professional gloves have a thick durable palm providing the greatest comfort.

Closure - L1 Double Elastic Wrist
The closure of  gloves refer to the way it fits around your wrist and how it is secured to your hand. L1 has double elastic wrist action gloves, providing our players with good strong wrist support as well as supporting comfort and ventilation. The L1 double elastic wrist gives security and a better fit for players, providing solid adjustment.

L1 Glove Care.

To get the most out of your L1 Gloves you should:
  • Pre-wash to ensure maximum grip on use.
  • When playing, dampen the L1 Latex Professional Palm with water to give grip and durability.
  • Wash gloves immediately after use and dry naturally.
Wash using water 30 degrees C, and dry naturally. DO NOT use a radiator, drier or an iron to dry L1 gloves.

You can extend the life of your L1 gloves through the steps above. The first part of the glove to show wear will be the palm. The Latex Professional is the most delicate piece of the glove and will require the most care and attention.

How many pairs do I need?

Here at L1 we recommend that players have more than one pair of gloves depending on the amount of training/playing/games. Generally, a young goalkeeper may go through around 15-20 gloves per season depending on the intensity of play (how many times they play/train, how well they look after them, age of keeper).

Our L1 Pro-Team usually use around 30-40 pairs of gloves per season due to their increase of training, games and overall intensity.
